The rapid application development tool Runtime Revolution (http://www.runrev.com/)
has proven to be an excellent tool for creating computer-assisted
language learning (CALL) materials. In this introductory workshop,
the basics of Revolution will be covered. Examples of CALL activities
made in Revolution will be demonstrated. Participants will learn
how to produce their own CALL materials. Emphasis will be placed
on the multimedia capabilities that are built into Revolution,
such as playing and recording audio and video and displaying graphics.
Participants will be provided with templates upon which their CALL
activities can be based.
This workshop is open to all language educators in the Pittsburgh
community. It is offered free of charge, but registration is required.
To register, please send your name and affiliation to Claire Siskin
at cbsiskin@pitt.edu. Enrollment
is limited to 20 participants.
