Overview of El Tiempo Exercise

Target Group: Spanish I students

Purpose:

Time Required for Exercise: Probably 10 minutes

Drawbacks and solutions: Students may have difficulties moving the images on the screen to achieve the order they wish for their sentences. In that case, students may simply write the sentences (on paper or on the computer), or they may print the images and cut them apart, then placing them in the order they wish to create.
Perhaps the computers are not working, in which case the teacher Would revert to a backup plan.

Cautions: This exercise needs to be further refined before being presented to the class. Additional images could be added.

El Tiempo

Create sentences in Spanish. First put the images in the order you wish to create sentences. (Try for three images for each sentence.)..

Then write a sentence below each series of images. Begin each sentence with: Cuando hace; then tell what you wear; then tell where you go or what you do. For example: Cuando hace calor, llevo los lentes de sol y voy a la playa Your partner and you will then share with each other in Spanish the sentences you have created and choose the be two sentences to present to the class orally.
