Teachers' Lounge: the State of GenAI in Language Classroom

Description: As we come up to the 3-year anniversary of ChatGPT's debut, we find ourselves living in a new changed reality of University education. There's so much to keep up with: shiny new AI products hitting the market, news articles and think-pieces with big headlines, and, of course, seminars and workshops with a promise to help us navigate it all.

In this Teachers' Lounge, let's take a deep breath and pull our experiences together: we will share how the Gen AI has played out in our day-to-day teaching, what resources we found helpful, and also, what assignment and assessment strategies we have deployed successfully. We will also discuss the latest in Pitt's response to Gen AI, and how it relates to language instruction.
